We’re a catalyst for better health

We are the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA). We provide a range of critical services to the NHS and its patients.

Our vision is to be the delivery partner of choice for the NHS. Our values were developed with our people, for our people as we care passionately about what we do. We strive to hire the best and need passionate, innovative, and talented people to work on our exciting projects that make a real difference.

What do we do?

Through digital expertise, we’re transforming our services to make it easier for our customers to get what they need. Our services have added value to the NHS by delivering £1 billion worth of recurring savings since 2013.

We provide members of the public with Prescription Prepayment Certificates (PPC), EHIC cards, NHS exemption certificates, and much more. We also administrate the NHS Pension Scheme on behalf of the Department of Health and Social care as well as provide the NHS jobs service.

Our locations

Our Digital, Insight and Technology teams are mainly located in Newcastle, Middlebrook and Fleetwood.

Our digital workspaces are bright and open, there’s plenty of room to allow our people to design, create and collaborate. They’re equipped with smart walls, breakout areas and a range of digital technology which helps us to work in an agile way.

Adapting how we work

The COVID-19 pandemic has allowed us to explore different ways of working. We trust our employees to deliver from wherever they are, which is why we offer flexible working and the ability to work from home.

We’re also working on a ‘Our way ahead’ strategy for how we want to work post-pandemic. This strategy is being moulded based on how our people want to work in the future.
